About five years ago, Gabriel finally bought his little car and invested in his own home, after years working as a janitor and in many other jobs.
But then the crisis hit and things got tight: the company had to shut down and Gabriel was laid off.
And since bills don’t wait — and the previous company didn’t have enough cash for severance — he ended up at an entrepreneurship talk, sitting quietly, trying to absorb as much information as he could about starting a business, surrounded by people with the same goal.
One person in particular caught his attention: someone using a laptop covered in tech stickers.
Gabriel already had a background in technology (remember the “many professions”?), and people always called him a “nerd”, so he embraced the idea.
He went home and started his own business.
On the dirt floor of a modest home, using a table he had received as partial payment from his last job, he relied on local print shops to produce the stickers.
Selling through a website he built himself under the name “Nerd Stickers”, Gabriel saved every cent to invest in his own machines — his focus was always on sticker quality.
The business grew until it became impossible to do everything alone.
That’s when Gabi, his girlfriend, came in.
She decided to join the Nerd Stickers dream, taking over the company’s finances.
Soon, a team started to form, processes got better, and the product became nearly indestructible — just like the ones you already know.
Now there are four layers of premium stickers that began with literally 5 reais, unemployment, and a car + a house to pay for.
Today, Nerd Stickers is a national reference in nerd expression products, producing stickers in a 250m² warehouse equipped with the best printing machines in the world — the kind every pro in the industry dreams of owning.
What a journey, right?
No one really knew this whole story until now, because Gabriel never wanted the spotlight.
